Three main programmes

The Festival features an extensive performance and events programme curated by Emma Leach & Gemma Sharpe (including Augusto Corrieri, see image above), a screening programme curated by Brian Dillon, and a series of commissions curated by the Biennale Director Sue Jones.

A lively satellite programme of works by over 100 artists accompanies the main programme.

Whitstable Biennale
19 June - 4 July 2010

The 5th Whitstable Biennale opened on Saturday 19 June, and runs until Sunday 4 July 2010. The Biennale has rapidly gained an international reputation for showcasing the best new work by the most exciting young UK artists. It is now widely recognised as one of the most important dates on the UK's art-world calendar.

Two year project launched

Artists Sonia Uddin & Leah Elsey have been commissioned to undertake a two year project which will culminate in a major commission for the Whitstable Biennale 2012. They launch their project with a discussion event on Sunday 4 July.

Uddin & Elsey, Twin Towns (provisional title)

Uddin & Elsey's practice is inspired by political events and the spirit of resistance. Their Whitstable Biennale project focuses on Whitstable and its five twin towns, which are spread across Europe.
